What does a Project Manager do at Royal SMIT Transformers?
As a project manager, my main focus is on facilitating collaboration and ensuring alignment across teams. My work is about effective communication: writing emails and reports, making phone calls, coordinating teams, organizing tasks, and keeping projects running smoothly.

My days are busy, challenging, and full of variety — exactly how I like them. SMIT STS offers me a great deal of freedom in how I organize my work, which fits perfectly with my style.
Many of my colleagues are true transformer experts — service specialists, measurement technicians, safety engineers, and more. Their technical knowledge and passion for their craft truly motivate me in my work.
How do you unwind at the end of the day?
After work, I switch gears completely — family dinner, the kids’ evening routine, and a little time to unwind. I try to fit in a few workouts each week, and weekends usually mean being outdoors and making memories with my children.
What do you love about your job and your employer?
When I joined SMIT Transformer Service about five months ago, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Everyone in the office was incredibly kind and patient from day one, but those first weeks still felt intense. Fast forward to today, and things feel completely different. Each day I feel more confident, more connected to the team and more myself.
I’m still the newest colleague in the office, surrounded by people who have been with SMIT for years — some even their entire professional lives. That longevity creates a strong sense of connection and pride, something I admire and aspire to be part of.
Although the company is predominantly male, there are a few inspiring women in the team who stand out through their professionalism, expertise, and positive energy.
