How Dhipikha landed her Engineering role at Robeco

Meet Dhipikha, Engineer on Robeco's portfolio investment team, where she's helping shape investment strategy through data. Her path there started with a coffee chat through HerFuture, one conversation with her now-manager that turned a brand new job market into a real opportunity. From four years in banking software in India to building models in a tech stack she'd never touched before, it's a story about staying open, even when it feels uncertain.

How she found HerFuture:
Dhipikha started her career in India at a banking software company, then moved to the Netherlands in September 2025, where everything was new: the country, the climate, the culture, the job market. Having heard of HerFuture back in India, she turned to its jobs board for more targeted opportunities.

She sees it as a genuine stepping stone: the roles, especially in data, weren't ones she found elsewhere, and the coffee chats offered something no other platform did. While LinkedIn helped her network, HerFuture put her directly in touch with people at the company; and she now recommends it to every woman who asks how she found her job, always with the same advice: just give it a try.

‍

The Connection :
She uploaded her profile to HerFuture and applied to a Robeco job, and the team invited her for a coffee chat: something that didn't exist back home, where the process was different and video interviews always made her nervous.

Talking with Christine, her now-manager, felt personal and warm, and the nerves disappeared. They stayed in touch over email afterward, so she always knew where she stood. She also did coffee chats with other companies on the HerFuture app, each teaching her something new. But every Robeco conversation left her feeling positive and confident she could land the job, even with an unfamiliar tech stack.

‍

Her role today:
Dhipikha now works as an engineer in the portfolio investment team. There's a huge amount of product and business logic to understand before she can write good models, so she's learning and contributing at the same time.

The biggest shift has been cultural: coming from a workplace where she felt a bit afraid to approach senior people, she's now somewhere she can walk up to anyone and ask even the lame questions. She's unlearning as much as she's learning, and she actually enjoys coming into the office.

‍

Her advice:
Things happen at the right time, but only if you keep working at it consistently: set a routine and stick to it. She spent six months job hunting while her husband went to work, and on the low days she'd read a book or do something else, then treat her "me time" as separate once her job-search hours were done.

Rejections will come, she says, but she kept her spectrum wide on domain and tech stack: She'd never worked in Robeco's stack before, and staying open-minded is exactly what let the opportunity in.

Congrats to Dhipikha on her role at Robeco!
