Name: Sharda
Job: Business Analyst/Resource Manager

What does a Business Analyst/Resource Manager do at Capgemini?

Currently I am in the role of Resource Manager of Insights & Data NL within Capgemini. As a Resource Manager I am responsible for making sure all our colleagues ( around 500) have a nice assignment. I help new colleagues find assignments and assist those who want to switch roles, along with all tasks that come with this. Additionally, I am actively looking for new opportunities with our clients.

Here’s what a day in Sharda's life looks like!

9-10AM:
I work 3 days a week at the office, I love to connect with my colleagues and get to know new ones. Today is an office day - I start my day way earlier, I leave the house at 6:30 AM and am around 7:30/8 AM at the office. First, I have a cup of coffee and my breakfast and then I start looking into my emails. I prepare the daily stand-up and the stand-up finishes around 9:30.

10-11AM:
After the stand-up I send some new opportunities to my colleagues and propose them to clients.

11AM-12PM:
We have a session with all colleagues who are not on an assignment. I let the colleagues tell each other about their intakes and training to inspire each other, we have a guest speaker who talks about their current assignment, and an account manager shares information about an upcoming opportunity. We close this session with a fun quiz, and the winner has to prepare the quiz for next week!

12-1PM:
Time for lunch! I'm always in doubt whether to go to the canteen or to go to the Jumbo Food market next to the office. We decide to have a quick lunch in the canteen with a couple of colleagues and then go for a walk through Leidsche Rijn because it is sunny outside!

1-2PM:
At 1, I have a session with Operations to make a forecast for the upcoming month

2-3PM:
Time to check emails again and propose some nice colleagues to our clients.

3-4PM:
We have weekly sessions with our sales team where we propose a few of our colleagues and actively search for good opportunities for them.

4-5PM:
I close the day with a nice introduction meeting with a new colleague. Let's see where her ambitions lie and how I can help her!

5-6PM:
Time to go home! I buy groceries daily, so on my way to home I go to the supermarket and once home, I start cooking. After that it is time to play some hockey!

How do you unwind at the end of the day?

I play hockey 3 times a week, great way to unwind after work. There is always one relaxing day when I do nothing after dinner, and an evening with friends, family, gym of golf.

What do you love about your job and your employer?

I love the flexibility! My first assignment was as PMO, Business Analyst and Project Manager at the Royal Dutch Airforce. Within 2 years I have grown from PMO to BA to PM :) And now I have an assignment as Resource Manager where I can develope skills like Stakeholder Management and many others.
